충남 공주시 우성면(면장 이용건)은 지난 26일 행정복지센터에서 지역 내 다문화가족을 초청해 폭력 예방 교육과 함께 나무공예 체험 프로그램을 실시했다고 28일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 총 15명의 다문화가족이 참여한 가운데, 일상 속에서의 인권 감수성과 가족 내 평등 문화에 대한 이해를 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 교육은 폭력의 개념과 유형, 예방을 위한 실천 방안 등을 다루며 참가자들의 높은 집중도를 이끌었다.
교육 이후에는 전문 공예 강사의 지도 아래 생활 속에서 활용 가능한 ‘슬라이딩 상자’ 제작 체험이 이어졌다. 목재를 이용한 공예 과정은 처음 접하는 이들도 쉽게 따라 할 수 있도록 단계별로 구성됐으며, 참여자들은 자녀와 함께 도안을 꾸미고 조립하는 과정을 통해 자연스럽게 소통하는 시간을 가졌다.
한 이주여성 참가자는 “교육을 통해 서로를 존중하는 태도의 중요성을 다시금 깨달을 수 있었고, 가족이 함께 공예품을 만들며 마음을 나누는 소중한 시간이었다”고 말했다.
이용건 우성면장은 “이번 프로그램이 다문화가족의 인권 감수성을 높이고, 가족 간의 유대감을 강화하는 계기가 되었기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 문화적 다양성을 존중하며, 지역사회 정착을 돕는 교육과 체험 기회를 지속적으로 마련하겠다”고 강조했다.
우성면은 앞으로도 관내 다문화가정을 위한 맞춤형 복지 지원과 문화교류 사업을 강화해 지역 내 포용적 공동체 형성에 주력할 방침이다.
