김기웅 서천군수, 기재부 방문 '국비 확보' 전방위 행보

충남 서천군이 지역의 미래 성장동력을 확보하기 위한 국비 확보전에 본격적으로 나섰다. 

김기웅 서천군수는 지난 28일 기획재정부를 방문해 강윤진 경제심의관과 면담을 갖고, 서천군이 역점 추진 중인 주요 현안사업의 정부 예산 반영을 공식 요청했다.

이 자리에서 김 군수는 새 정부의 정책 기조에 발맞춘 서천군의 지역 발전 방향을 상세히 설명하며, 현안사업들이 국가 전략과 궤를 같이하고 있다는 점을 강조했다. 특히 사업들의 시급성과 지역사회에 미치는 파급력을 중심으로 기획재정부의 각별한 관심과 실질적인 예산 지원을 당부했다.

서천군이 이번에 정부 예산 반영을 요청한 주요 사업은 '한국해양과학기술원 서해연구소 설립 시범사업', '서천 갯벌 방문자 센터 건립', '국립해양바이오 산업진흥원 설립', '금강하구 해수유통 및 신재생발전기지 조성', '길산천~판교천 물길 복원' 등 다섯 가지다.

한편 서천군은 오는 9월 초 정부가 국회에 제출할 내년도 예산안 심의 이후, 예산 미반영 사업에 대해 국회 단계에서 추가 반영이 가능하도록 다양한 전략을 펼칠 계획이다. 국회 상임위 대응, 지역 국회의원과의 협력, 정책 간담회 등을 통해 서천의 주요 사업이 국가 예산에 반영될 수 있도록 전방위적 대응에 나설 방침이다.
