예산군, 특별재난지역 지정 따라 ‘세제 지원’ 속도전

충남 예산군이 최근 집중호우로 큰 피해를 입은 군민들의 경제적 고통을 덜기 위해 지방세 감면 및 유예 조치를 본격 추진한다. 

군은 29일 “정부의 특별재난지역 선포에 발맞춰 실효성 있는 세제 지원 방안을 마련하고 신속한 행정 절차에 돌입했다”고 밝혔다.

군에 따르면, 가장 먼저 조치에 나선 부분은 재산세다. 7월 납기로 부과된 재산세에 대해서는 피해 신고가 접수된 납세자부터 순차적으로 ‘직권 징수유예’를 적용 중이다. 또한 추후 누락 신고가 확인될 경우에도 추가 유예 조치가 가능하도록 절차를 열어두고 있다고 전했다.

지방세 감면 역시 속도를 내고 있다. 예산군은 '지방세특례제한법'에 따라 재난 피해 재산에 대한 감면 근거를 확보한 상태로, 현재 예산군의회 임시회를 통해 감면 동의안 제출을 준비 중이다. 군 관계자는 “군의회 동의 절차를 신속히 마무리하고, 이후 행정 처리에 차질 없도록 후속 작업에 바로 착수할 계획”이라고 설명했다.

이번 지원에는 감면뿐 아니라 대체 취득에 대한 세제 혜택도 포함된다. 구체적으로는 주택·선박·차량·기계장비 등 멸실되거나 파손된 재산을 2년 이내에 다시 취득할 경우 취득세가 면제되며, 향후 멸실·전손 차량에 대해서는 자동차세가 부과되지 않는다. 이에 따라 군은 해당 제도에 대한 대민 홍보도 강화할 방침이다.

최재구 예산군수는 “집중호우 피해로 어려움을 겪는 군민 여러분께 실질적인 세제지원이 이뤄질 수 있도록 신속하고 정확한 조치를 시행하겠다”며 “군민들이 하루빨리 일상으로 복귀할 수 있도록 모든 행정 역량을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
