대구경찰청 여성청소년범죄수사대는 29일 신생아 학대 혐의로 간호사 3명을 지난 24일 불구속 상태로 검찰에 송치했다고 밝혔다.
이들은 2023년 10월부터 올해 3월까지 신생아중환자실에서 신생아들을 여러 차례 학대한 혐의를 받고 있다. 특히 자신의 SNS에 신생아 사진과 함께 부적절한 내용을 올려 충격을 줬다.
한 간호사는 신생아를 무릎에 앉혀 사진을 찍은 뒤 '낙상마렵다'는 문구를 달아 SNS에 게시했다. 다른 간호사들도 '내일 퇴원해도 되겠다', '성악설이 맞다', '진짜 성질 더럽네 OO처럼', '고마 울어라' 등의 글과 함께 신생아 사진을 공유했다.
경찰은 총 5명의 간호사를 수사했지만 이 중 3명만 검찰에 송치했다. 송치된 간호사 중 1명은 병원에서 파면되고, 2명은 강제 휴직 상태다. 경찰 관계자는 "피해 신생아 수 등 구체적인 내용은 확인해 줄 수 없다"고 말했다.
병원 측에 대해서는 불송치 결정이 내려졌다. 경찰은 "병원이 아동학대 예방교육을 성실히 실시했고, 송치된 간호사들도 교육을 이수했다"며 "병원이 관리 감독을 소홀히 했다고 보기 어렵다"고 설명했다.
또한 남구보건소에 대해서도 "병원의 운영 시스템이 부실하거나 학대를 방조한 정황은 발견되지 않았다"고 전했다.
