【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구보건소는 지난 6월부터 김광석길 일대를 ‘자율금연문화거리’로 조성해 운영 중이라고 밝혔다.
사업은 간접흡연으로부터 주민과 관광객의 건강을 보호하고, 자발적인 금연 실천 분위기를 확산하기 위해 추진됐다.
단순한 금연 계도를 넘어 문화와 건강이 어우러진 새로운 거리 문화를 만들어가는 것이 목표다.
자율금연문화거리에서는 다채로운 프로그램이 펼쳐지고 있다. 김광석길 내 카페와 식당을 활용한 자율금연 홍보관 운영을 비롯해 골목방송을 통한 금연 메시지 송출, 문화행사와 연계한 금연 홍보 부스까지 곳곳에서 금연 문화가 자리 잡고 있다.
특히 거리를 찾는 방문객들을 위한 맞춤형 서비스가 눈에 띈다. 체험형 금연 교육과 금연클리닉 연계 상담, 신종담배 유해성 안내는 물론 심뇌혈관질환 예방 교육과 걷기 실천 등 종합적인 건강정보까지 제공해 실질적인 건강 증진 효과를 거두고 있다.
황석선 중구보건소장은 "김광석길 자율금연문화거리는 건강한 거리 문화를 확산시키는 출발점"이라며 "주민이 자발적으로 참여하는 금연 환경이 정착될 수 있도록 지속적인 홍보와 협력을 이어가겠다"고 말했다.
