광복 80주년을 기념해 인천대학교와 재외동포협력센터가 공동 주최한 ‘2025년 재외동포 차세대 모국초청 – 인천대 학생과 재외동포 청년 글로벌 토론회’가 지난 7월 27일과 8월 10일, 양일간의 열띤 참여 속에 성황리에 마무리됐다.

두 차례에 걸쳐 열린 토론회에는 인천대 재학생과 재외동포 청년, 그리고 서포터즈와 행사 관계자 등 330여명이 함께했다.
행사는 인천대학교 학생들과 재외동포 청년 간의 친교를 위해 마련된 식전 간담회를 시작으로, 인천대 동북아국제통상물류학부 김부용 교수와 김종인 교수가‘대한민국과 동포사회의 상생 발전방안’을 주제로 발제를 진행했다.
이어 4개 그룹별 토론이 이어졌으며, 러시아어와 영어 순차 통역이 제공돼 글로벌 토론회의 의미를 더해주었다.
행사 당일 30도를 웃도는 무더위 속에서도 러시아·CIS·북미·중남미·유럽·아시아 등지에서 온 재외동포 청년들과 인천대 학생들은 K-팝과 K-문화를 매개로 서로의 공감을 이끌어냈다.

토론이 끝난 뒤에는 석별의 정을 나누며 인스타그램 계정을 교환하는 모습도 이어졌다.
한 재외동포 청년은 “인천대 학생들과 생각을 나눌 수 있어 뜻깊었다”며, “앞으로 더 많은 재외동포들이 이런 자리에 함께할 기회가 있길 바란다”고 전했다.
