(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 12일, 전국 최초로 유아부터 성인까지 전 생애주기를 아우르는 맞춤형 장애인 재활서비스 체계를 구축하고, 본격적인 운영을 시작했다고 밝혔다.
남동구에 따르면 이번 사업은 교육기관과 연계해 장애 예방과 관리, 재활 전문인력 양성까지 보건소 재활사업의 영역을 대폭 확장한 것이 특징이다.
남동구는 먼저 유치원생과 초등학생을 대상으로 ‘후천적 손상 예방 교실’을 운영해 사고 위험이 큰 아동의 후천적 장애 발생률을 낮추는 데 기여하고 있다.
국립재활원의 전문 강사가 직접 교육하는 이 프로그램은 지난 2023년 시작했으며, 매년 20개교, 500여 명의 학생이 참여하고 있다.
또한, 중·고등학교에 재학 중인 장애 청소년을 위해 ‘청소년 그룹재활교실’을 운영, 학교에서 제공하기 어려운 인지기능 향상 재활프로그램을 제공한다.
