【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경상북도가 중소벤처기업부의 '지역상권 활력지원' 추가 공모에서 청송 달기약수탕과 안동 풍산시장을 선정해 국비 13억 원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.
이번 공모는 지난해 12월 이후 특별재난지역으로 선포된 10곳을 대상으로 했다. 전국에서 3곳만 선정됐는데 경북이 2곳을 차지한 것이다.
청송 달기약수탕은 지난 3월 대형 산불로 상가 32곳이 전소되거나 반파됐다. 67개 점포 중 절반가량이 피해를 본 셈이다. 이곳에 국비 8억 원을 포함해 총 18억5천만 원이 투입된다.
주목할 점은 단순 복구가 아닌 업그레이드다. 기존 약수터를 위생적이고 편리한 '스마트 약수터'로 바꾸고, 달기 약수를 활용한 식음료와 체험 콘텐츠를 개발한다. 유휴 공간에는 복합 거점 시설을 설치해 관광객들이 머물 수 있는 체류형 상권을 만든다는 계획이다.
도내 기업들도 사업에 참여한다. 영천 한결테크닉스는 스마트 약수터를, 경주 스테이숲숲은 숙박 공간을, 안동 파머스푸드랩은 브랜드 개발과 시제품 생산을 맡는다.
안동 풍산시장은 국비 5억 원 포함 총 11억5천만 원을 받는다. 186개 점포 중 56곳이 비어있는 상황에서 안동 3대 특산물인 안동소주·한우·참마를 활용한 미식 관광 상권을 조성한다는 전략이다.
안동소주협회는 체험 프로그램과 시음제품 제작, 무료 시음 운영 등을 통해 시장 활성화에 나선다.
사업은 2025년부터 2년간 진행된다. 중소벤처기업부가 국비를 지원하고 경북도와 해당 시·군이 각각 같은 금액을 매칭해 총사업비를 구성한다.
이재훈 경북도 경제통상국장은 "산불 피해 지역 상권을 복구하는 데 그치지 않고 지역자원을 활용해 새로운 관광 명소로 만들겠다"며 "주민과 상인들의 생계 기반 회복을 위해 행정적·재정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.

A Smart Mineral Spring will be built at Dalgi Medicinal Spring in Cheongsong
North Gyeongsang Province announced that it has secured KRW 1.3 billion in national funding by selecting Dalgi Medicinal Spring in Cheongsong and Andong Pungsan Market in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' additional "Local Commercial Revitalization Support" program.
This program targeted 10 areas designated as special disaster zones since December of last year. Only three locations nationwide were selected, with Gyeongsangbuk-do taking two.
Dalgi Medicinal Spring in Cheongsong suffered a massive wildfire in March, with 32 stores completely burned or partially destroyed. Approximately half of the 67 stores were damaged. A total of KRW 1.85 billion, including KRW 800 million in national funds, will be invested in this project.
The focus is not on simple restoration, but rather on upgrades. Existing mineral springs will be converted into hygienic and convenient "smart springs," and food, beverage, and experience content utilizing Dalgi Medicinal Spring will be developed. The plan is to establish a multi-purpose hub facility in the vacant space, creating a residential commercial district where tourists can stay.
Local companies are also participating in the project. Yeongcheon Hangyeol Technics will provide a smart mineral spring, Gyeongju Stay Sup Sup will provide accommodations, and Andong Farmers Food Lab will be responsible for brand development and prototype production.
Andong Pungsan Market will receive a total of 1.15 billion won, including 500 million won in government funding. With 56 of its 186 stores vacant, the strategy is to create a culinary tourism district utilizing Andong's three major specialties: Andong soju, Korean beef, and yams.
The Andong Soju Association will revitalize the market through experiential programs, product sampling, and free tastings.
The project will run for two years, starting in 2025. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will provide national funding, while North Gyeongsang Province and the relevant cities and counties will each match the total project cost.
Lee Jae-hoon, director of the Gyeongbuk Province Economic and Trade Bureau, said, "We will not only restore the commercial districts in the wildfire-stricken areas, but also utilize local resources to create new tourist attractions. We will not spare administrative or financial support to restore the livelihoods of residents and merchants."
