영덕군은 오는 22일부터 23일까지 이틀간 ‘2025 영덕 국가유산 야행’을 개최한다고 18일 밝혔다. 이번 행사는 국가유산청과 경상북도, 영덕군이 주최하고 영덕문화관광재단이 주관하며, 영덕이 4년 연속 선정된 국가 공모사업이다. 올해 야행은 ‘8야(夜), 여덟 가지 밤 풍경’을 테마로 지역 근대역사문화유산의 가치를 재조명하고 주민들의 문화 향유 기회를 넓히기 위해 마련됐다.
부제는 ‘영해 1925, 그날 밤을 거닐다’. 해가 저물면 인적이 드문 영해 거리는 청사초롱 불빛 아래 100년 전 번화가로 탈바꿈한다. 모던보이·모던걸로 분장한 배우와 군민 배우, 한복 차림의 해설사가 거리를 누비며 관광객을 맞이하고, 인력거와 전통놀이가 어우러진 옛 장터 풍경이 재현된다. 1935년 건립된 영해금융조합 외벽은 미디어파사드로, 내부는 무성영화 상영관으로 변신한다. 실내 전시 공간에는 주민들이 소장한 가보와 골동품도 전시된다.

영덕군 관계자는 “영덕 국가유산야행으로 영해의 밤거리가 더욱 매력적으로 변모하고 있다”며 “많은 분들이 찾아와 역사와 문화, 청년세대가 어우러진 특별한 밤을 즐기길 바란다”고 말했다.
