【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=군위고등학교(교장 이현정)가 다문화 이해와 국제 교류를 목표로 한 ‘친구와 함께 내 부모 고향 방문하기 프로젝트’를 성공적으로 마무리했다고 18일 밝혔다.
지난 4일부터 9일까지 4박 6일간 다문화 이해와 국제 교류를 목표로 한 이번 프로젝트에는 어머니가 베트남 출신인 다문화 가정 학생과 평소 다문화 친구들과 활발히 교류하는 학생 등 총 12명이 참가했다.
학생들은 베트남 부모님의 고향을 직접 방문하고, 캄보디아에서는 현지 학생들과 교류하며 세계 시민으로서의 시야를 넓혔다.
또한 캄보디아 씨엠립의 수상가옥촌 내 수상학교를 방문해 학용품을 전달하고, K-POP 댄스와 한국어 노래 공연을 선보였다.
현지 학생들은 공연을 응원하며 함께 사진을 찍고 선물을 나누는 등 언어의 장벽을 넘어 우정을 쌓았다.
베트남에서는 하롱베이 선상투어, 바딘광장, 문묘 등 역사·문화 유적지를 탐방하며 현지 문화를 체험했다.
이현정 교장은 “학생들이 부모의 뿌리를 이해하고, 다른 문화를 존중하는 태도를 기른 것이 가장 큰 성과”라며 “앞으로도 세계와 소통하며 성장하는 글로벌 인재 양성을 위해 다양한 체험형 교육 활동을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

They also visited a floating school in a floating house village in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where they delivered school supplies and performed K-pop dances and Korean songs.
The local students cheered on the performance, took photos, and exchanged gifts, building friendships that transcended language barriers.
In Vietnam, they experienced local culture through a boat tour of Ha Long Bay, visits to historical and cultural sites such as Ba Dinh Square and the Temple of Literature, and more.
Principal Lee Hyeon-jeong said, “The greatest achievement is that students have developed an understanding of their parents’ roots and an attitude of respect for other cultures,” and added, “We will continue to provide various experiential educational activities to foster global talents who can communicate and grow with the world.”
