시는 지난 18일, 혁신농업타운 시범모델로 추진 중인 안강읍 육통리 대청영농조합법인을 방문해 현장 점검과 간담회를 진행했다.
대청영농조합법인은 2025년부터 2029년까지 총 8억 3천7백만 원 규모의 혁신농업타운 사업을 통해 첨단 장비 19대를 지원받아 여름철에는 콩, 겨울철에는 조사료를 재배하는 이모작 체계를 도입한다. 이를 통해 쌀 중심의 단작에서 벗어나 논 타작물 전환과 공동영농을 확대, 농가소득 증대와 경영비 절감, 수익 환원사업 확대 등 실질적 성과가 기대된다.
현장을 찾은 주낙영 경주시장은 논콩 재배지를 둘러본 뒤 “혁신농업타운은 기존 농업방식에서 탈피해 첨단화·규모화·기술혁신을 결합한 새로운 농업 패러다임”이라며 “대청영농조합법인이 농업혁신의 대표 모델로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
이어 열린 간담회에서는 조합원과 경주시 관계자들이 농업대전환의 비전과 추진 방향을 공유하며 협력 방안을 논의했다. 주 시장은 “혁신농업타운이 경주 전역으로 확산돼 지역 농업이 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 지속가능한 산업으로 도약할 수 있도록 정책적 뒷받침을 아끼지 않겠다”고 강조했다.
혁신농업타운 사업은 청년농과 지역 농업인이 영농법인과 연계해 공동영농을 추진하고, 첨단 장비와 기술혁신을 접목하는 신개념 농업모델이다. 경주시는 이번 안강읍 시범사업을 계기로 농업 혁신의 가능성을 입증하고, 향후 전 지역으로 확대해 미래세대가 체감할 수 있는 고부가가치 농업의 길을 열어간다는 계획이다.
