인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 백일장은 인천시교육청이 추진하는 ‘읽걷쓰’ 3대 축제 중 하나로, 학생과 시민이 함께 모여 문학적 재능과 창의력을 발휘할 수 있는 자리다.
대회는 초등 1·2학년, 초등 3·4학년, 초등 5·6학년, 중학교부, 고등학교부, 일반부로 나눠 진행되며, 사전 신청은 9월 1일까지 새얼문화재단 사무국에서 접수한다.
행사 당일에는 전통놀이, 읽걷쓰 체험, 문화 체험 등 10개의 체험 부스가 인천축구전용경기장 북문 광장에서 오후 1시부터 운영되며, 누구나 자유롭게 참여할 수 있다.
