【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구청이 지역사회 발전에 헌신해온 숨은 일꾼들을 발굴해 북구민상 수상자로 선정했다.
지난 24일 대구 북구청 상황실에서 북구민상 시상 심의위원회가 개최되어 올해 수상자 3명이 최종 선정됐다.
북구민상은 북구 발전에 기여하고 명랑하고 살기 좋은 지역사회 건설을 위해 헌신과 봉사를 실천한 구민을 발굴하는 권위 있는 상이다.
지역사회개발, 사회봉사효행, 문화체육예술, 교육과학 등 4개 부문에서 공적이 뚜렷한 인물을 선정해 구민의 귀감으로 삼고 있다.
올해 35회째를 맞는 북구민상에는 총 7명의 후보자가 추천됐다.
지역사회개발 부문 수상자인 이성장씨는 산격1동 주민자치위원장으로 활동하며 투철한 사명감으로 주민 복리 증진과 지역공동체 발전에 앞장서왔다.
2023년부터 2년간 북구주민자치위원장협의회 회장을 맡아 도청터 후적지 개발과 문화예술허브 사업부지 변경 철회 등 지역 현안 해결을 위해 적극적으로 뛰어들었다.
사회봉사효행 부문의 박애련씨는 2003년부터 현재까지 꾸준히 지역사회 봉사활동을 펼쳐왔다. 성보재활원과 상록뇌성마비복지관 등에서 장애인 활동보조 봉사를 하고, 어려운 가정을 위한 반찬 배달과 모금활동을 지원하는 등 오랜 기간 한결같은 마음으로 봉사해왔다.
문화예술체육 부문의 류성진씨는 북구체육회장으로서 체육회의 특수법인 설립을 통해 조직의 위상과 안정성을 높였다. 각종 체육사업과 행사를 주최해 구민들의 건강 증진과 여가 활동 기회를 제공했으며, 체계적인 체육시설 운영으로 생활체육 활성화에 크게 기여했다.
배광식 북구청장은 "북구민상은 전 구민의 귀감이 되는 우리 지역의 진정한 봉사자를 발굴해 드리는 영예로운 상"이라며 "구정 발전과 주민 화합을 위해 솔선수범한 수상자들께 감사드리며, 앞으로 구민과 함께 소통하고 참여하는 행정으로 금고강 르네상스 완성을 위한 한 길만 걷겠다"고 말했다.

As the Chairperson of the Buk-gu Residents' Autonomy Committee for two years, starting in 2023, she actively worked to resolve local issues, including the redevelopment of the former provincial government building site and the withdrawal of the Cultural Arts Hub project site change.
Ms. Park Ae-ryeon, in the Social Service and Filial Piety category, has been actively engaged in community service since 2003. She has consistently volunteered at the Seongbo Rehabilitation Center and Sangnok Cerebral Palsy Welfare Center, providing assistance to people with disabilities, and has supported meal delivery and fundraising efforts for families in need.
Ms. Ryu Seong-jin, in the Culture, Arts, and Sports category, served as the Chairperson of the Buk-gu Sports Association, enhancing the organization's status and stability by establishing a special corporation. She has hosted various sports projects and events, providing residents with opportunities for health promotion and leisure activities, and has significantly contributed to the revitalization of recreational sports through the systematic operation of sports facilities.
Buk-gu Mayor Bae Gwang-sik said, "The Buk-gu Citizen Award is an honorable award that discovers true volunteers in our region who serve as role models for all residents," adding, "I would like to thank the recipients who have taken the lead in promoting the development of the district and uniting residents. Going forward, we will only walk one path toward completing the Geumgo River Renaissance through an administration that communicates and participates with residents."
