[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 25일부터 29일까지 5일간 벡스코와 누리마루 등지에서 ‘에너지 슈퍼 위크’를 개최한다고 밝혔다. 이번행사는 'Energy for AI & AI for Energy를 주제로 2025 기후산업국제박람회(WCE)와 함께 세 개의 글로벌 에너지 장관회의가 동시에 열리는 전례 없는 국제행사로 진행된다.
국제기구 공동 주최…부산, 기후기술 중심지 도약 기대
이번 에너지 슈퍼 위크는 국제에너지기구(IEA)와 세계은행(World Bank)이 공동 주최하며, 부산이 기후 기술(테크) 비즈니스 중심지로 도약하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대되고 있다.
2025 기후산업국제박람회…산·학·연·관 공동 개최
2025 기후산업국제박람회는 오는 27일부터 29일까지 벡스코에서 개최된다. 산업통상자원부, 부산시, 시에프(CF)연합, 대한상공회의소 등 정부와 민간이 공동으로 주관하며, 3년 연속 부산에서 열리는 기후·에너지 분야의 대표적인 국제행사다.
글로벌 에너지 장관회의…40여 개국 정책 결정자 참여
에너지 장관회의는 세 가지 주요 회의로 구성된다. 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 에너지 장관회의는 8월 27일부터 28일까지 누리마루 APEC하우스와 파라다이스 호텔에서, 청정에너지(CEM) 및 미션이노베이션(MI) 장관회의는 25일부터 27일까지 벡스코에서 각각 개최된다. 전 세계 40여 개국의 기후·에너지 정책 결정자 및 전문가들이 참석해 청정 전력, 전력망, 인공지능과 에너지, 탄소중립 등 핵심 의제를 논의할 예정이다.
'AI와 에너지' 융합 주제로 산업·정책 방향 제시
올해 박람회의 주제는 'Energy for AI & AI for Energy(에너지 포 에이아이 엔드 에이아이 포 에너지)'로, 에너지와 인공지능의 융합, 청정에너지, 전력망 구축 등 산업과 정책의 방향을 제시한다. 총 12개의 글로벌 학술회의와 함께 에너지 고속도로, 재생에너지 등 6개 전시관에서 540여 개 기업·기관이 최신 기술과 제품을 선보인다.
지역 기업 참여…부산 기후기술 생태계 소개
부산 수소동맹관, 환경 에너지관 등에는 지역 선도기업과 혁신기관이 참여해 부산 기후 기술 산업 생태계를 소개할 예정이다. 이 외에도 세계은행(WB)과 해외 기업이 참여하는 채용 설명회, 구매 상담회, 청년 대상 프로그램 등 50여 개 부대행사가 마련된다.

주요 행사 일정…합동 환영 만찬·개막식·원탁회의
합동 환영 만찬은 오는 26일 오후 7시 영화의전당 야외극장에서 부산시와 산업통상자원부 공동 주최로 열린다. APEC, CEM, MI 등 장관급 인사 80여 명을 포함해 국내외 주요 인사 총 300여 명이 참석할 예정이다.
개막식은 27일 낮 12시 벡스코 그랜드볼룸에서 열리며, 국무총리 개회사 후 파티 비롤 IEA 사무총장, 미셸 패트론 마이크로소프트 ECS 정책 총괄의 기조연설이 예정돼 있다. 개막식 직후 진행되는 글로벌 에너지 원탁회의에서는 'The Role of Business for a Sustainable Future(지속가능한 미래를 위한 기업의 역할)'을 주제로 주요 인사 간 논의가 진행된다.
부산 학술회의, AI 기반 지속가능 도시 논의
이 날 오후 2시 30분부터 벡스코 제1전시장 회의실에서 '인공지능과 에너지 전환: 지속가능한 도시를 위한 혁신'을 주제로 부산 학술회의가 개최된다. 유종민 홍익대 교수, 조르자 람벨리 미션이노베이션 도시전환미션 디렉터, 조헌혁 LG CNS 데이터센터 담당이 발표자로 나선다. 발표 후에는 홍종호 서울대 환경대학원 교수를 좌장으로 한 토론이 진행된다.
광안리 드론 라이트쇼, 환경 메시지 전달
특별 공연으로 27일 오후 9시 광안리 해변 일대에서 ‘광안리 엠(M) 드론 라이트쇼’가 개최된다. 이 공연은 기후 위기와 환경 보호 메시지를 전달하는 행사로 기획되었다.

2025 World Climate Industry Expo… Joint Effort Among Industry, Academia, Research, and Government
The 2025 WCE will take place from August 27 to 29 at BEXCO. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the City of Busan, the Climate Federation (CF), and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others. This marks the third consecutive year that Busan hosts this major international event in the climate and energy sectors.
Global Energy Ministerial Meetings… Leaders from Over 40 Countries to Participate
Three key global ministerial meetings are scheduled: APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting: ▲August 27–28 at Nurimaru APEC House and Paradise Hotel ▲Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and Mission Innovation (MI) Ministerial Meeting: August 25–27 at BEXCO▲Policy-makers and experts from more than 40 countries will gather to discuss major global energy issues, including clean power, power grids, AI in energy, and carbon neutrality.
Theme: AI and Energy Integration Guiding Industry and Policy
This year’s WCE is themed “Energy for AI & AI for Energy”, presenting future directions and innovations in industry and policy through the integration of energy and artificial intelligence, clean energy, and power grid development. The event features 12 global academic conferences and six themed exhibition halls, including Energy Highway and Renewable Energy, with participation from over 540 companies and organizations.

Local Companies Showcase Busan’s Climate Tech Ecosystem
Local leading companies and innovation institutions will participate in themed pavilions such as the Busan Hydrogen Alliance and Environmental Energy Pavilion, showcasing Busan’s climate tech capabilities. Additionally, more than 50 side events, including job fairs, buyer consultations, and youth programs, will be held, with participation from global organizations like the World Bank and foreign companies.
Key Events: Welcome Dinner, Opening Ceremony, Roundtable
A joint welcome dinner will be held at 7 p.m. on August 26 at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center, co-hosted by the City of Busan and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Around 300 attendees are expected, including 80 minister-level officials from APEC, CEM, and MI, 120 government delegates, and major domestic and international climate and energy leaders.
The official Opening Ceremony will be held at noon on August 27 at the BEXCO Grand Ballroom. Following a keynote speech by the Prime Minister of South Korea, Fatih Birol (IEA Executive Director) and Michelle Patron (Microsoft ECS Policy Lead) will deliver keynote addresses. Afterward, the Global Energy Roundtable will take place at BEXCO Summit Hall under the theme “The Role of Business for a Sustainable Future,” with participation from key international figures.
Busan Conference to Discuss AI-Based Sustainable Cities
Also on August 27, at 2:30 p.m., a Busan conference titled “AI and Energy Transition: Innovation for Sustainable Cities” will be held at BEXCO Meeting Rooms (1st Exhibition Hall).
Speakers include: Professor Jongmin Yoo (Hongik University), Giorgia Rambelli, Director of Urban Transitions Mission at Mission Innovation
Heonhyuk Cho, LG CNS Data Center Lead
A panel discussion will follow, moderated by Professor Jong Ho Hong (Seoul National University Graduate School of Environmental Studies), with panelists from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), LS Electric, Equinor Korea, and law firm Bae, Kim & Lee.
Gwangalli Drone Light Show Delivers Environmental Message
A special performance, the Gwangalli M Drone Light Show, will be held at 9 p.m. on August 27 along Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong District. The show is designed to commemorate the global gathering and deliver messages about the climate crisis and environmental protection.
Open to the Public with Free On-Site Registration
The event is open to the public, and anyone interested can attend for free by registering on-site at BEXCO Exhibition Halls 1 & 2 or the Convention Hall.
