【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=영진전문대학교(총장 최재영) 동물보건과가 개강 첫날부터 일본 도쿄로 출국, 글로벌 현장학습에 나섰다.
동물보건과 2학년생 8명은 지난 25일부터 29일까지 일본에서 선진 동물의료 현장과 반려동물 문화산업 직접 체험에 나선다.
이번 ‘2025학년도 글로벌 현장학습’은 배동화 학과장 인솔로 진행됐다.
학생들은 첫 일정으로 도수치료 및 요양 전문 센터(Pet Care Service Let's)를 방문해 동물 돌봄과 재활실습을 체험했다.
이어 브레멘동물전문학교에서 교육과정을 확인하고, ‘동물종합의료센터 치바현’에서는 종양·정형외과 전문 병원 시스템을 하루 동안 경험했다.
또 TCA도쿄ECO동물해양전문학교와 동물 전문 의료·구급센터를 견학하며 현지 학생들과 교류, 일본의 동물보건사 양성 체계와 교육 환경을 살펴봤다.
배동화 학과장은 “일본은 반려동물 문화산업의 선구국으로 장례·보험·미용·훈련 등 분야가 세계적 수준”이라며 “학생들이 선진 기술과 문화를 배우고 글로벌 경쟁력을 키우는 기회가 됐다”고 말했다.
곽규원 학생은 “체계적 시스템과 전문성에 감탄했고 해외 취업이라는 새로운 진로 방향을 알게 됐다”고 했다.
이수빈 학생은 “일본 학생들의 열정과 실습 중심 교육이 인상 깊었다”며 진로 의지를 다졌다.

The Department of Animal Health at Yeungjin College (President Choi Jae-young) embarked on a global field trip to Tokyo, Japan, on the first day of the semester.
Eight second-year students from the Department of Animal Health traveled to Japan from the 25th to the 29th to experience advanced animal healthcare and the pet culture industry firsthand.
This "2025 Global Field Trip" was led by Department Chair Bae Dong-hwa.

Furthermore, they toured the TCA Tokyo Eco Animal and Marine College and the Animal Medical and Emergency Center, interacting with local students and learning about Japan's animal health specialist training system and educational environment.
Department Head Bae Dong-hwa stated, "Japan is a pioneer in the pet culture industry, boasting world-class capabilities in funerals, insurance, grooming, and training." He added, "This was an opportunity for students to learn about advanced technology and culture and cultivate global competitiveness."
Student Kwak Gyu-won said, "I was impressed by the systematic system and expertise, and I discovered a new career path: overseas employment."
Student Lee Su-bin expressed her determination to pursue her career, saying, "I was impressed by the passion and hands-on learning of the Japanese students."
