(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자)법무부가 지난 8월 5일 형제복지원과 선감학원에 강제 수용되었던 피해자들의 권리구제를 위해 국가배상소송 사건의 국가 상소취하 및 포기를 결정했다고 밝혔다.
이에 따라 법무부는 9월 12일까지 피해자 512명에 대해 2심 및 3심 진행 중이던 사건 총 52건 모두 국가의 상소를 취하했고, 피해자 135명에 대해 1심 및 2심 선고된 사건 총 19건도 모두 국가의 상소를 포기했다.
법무부는 피해자들의 신속한 권리구제가 이루어질 수 있도록 국가가 먼저 피해자들에게 전액 배상금을 지급하고, 국가와 공동으로 불법행위 책임을 부담하는 부산시 및 경기도와 배상금 분담을 추후 협의할 예정이다.
