영덕군, ‘대한민국 관광정책대상’ 관광산업부문 대상 수상

한국관광정책연구학회가 주관하는 이번 시상은 전국 기초자치단체를 대상으로 우수 관광정책을 발굴하고 혁신적 설계와 추진 사례를 공유하기 위해 매년 열리고 있다.

영덕군은 2019년부터 웰니스 관광사업에 집중해 성과를 거두고 있다. 2020년 명상과 자연건강을 체험할 수 있는 **‘인문힐링센터 여명’**이 문화체육관광부와 한국관광공사로부터 ‘추천 웰니스 관광지’로 선정된 데 이어, 2024년에는 ‘우수 웰니스 관광지’로, 같은 해 고래불국민야영장이 ‘경북 웰니스 관광지’로 꼽히기도 했다.

또한, 웰니스와 의료 융복합 관광콘텐츠를 결합한 **‘영덕 국제H웰니스페스타’**를 3회 연속 성공적으로 개최하며 국제적 웰니스 관광지로서의 잠재력을 알렸다.

이와 함께 명품 해안 트래킹 코스인 블루로드 업그레이드 사업을 추진하며 △테마로드 개발 △관어대 웰니스 경관 조성 △영덕웰니스자연치유센터 조성 등 다양한 치유형 관광 콘텐츠 개발에도 박차를 가하고 있다.

이러한 노력으로 영덕군은 2024년 K-웰니스 도시, 2025년 K-브랜드 어워즈 웰니스관광도시 부문에 선정된 데 이어, 이번 관광산업부문 대상 수상을 통해 대한민국 대표 웰니스 중심도시로 자리매김했다.

김광열 영덕군수는 “건강한 삶에 대한 수요가 늘어나는 최근 관광 트렌드에 맞춰 해양·산림·생태·문화 자원에 치유 콘텐츠를 결합한 다양한 웰니스 사업을 추진해 나가겠다”며 “웰니스 관광을 통해 지방 소멸 위기를 극복하고 국내 최고의 웰니스 도시로 도약하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Yeongdeok County Wins Grand Prize in the Tourism Industry Category at the "Republic of Korea Tourism Policy Awards"

Yeongdeok County won the grand prize in the tourism industry category at the "2025 3rd Republic of Korea Tourism Policy Awards" held at the Seoul Tourism Plaza on the 16th.

Hosted by the Korea Tourism Policy Research Association, this annual awards ceremony aims to identify outstanding tourism policies and share innovative design and implementation practices among local governments nationwide.

Yeongdeok County has been focusing on wellness tourism since 2019, achieving significant results. In 2020, the "Humanities Healing Center Yeomyeong," a meditation and natural health experience, was selected as a "Recommended Wellness Destination" by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. In 2024, it was named an "Excellent Wellness Destination," and the Goraebul National Campground was also selected as a "Gyeongbuk Wellness Destination" in the same year.
