POSTECH은 오는 24일부터 이틀간 ‘2025 POSTECH AutumnFest(PAF) – 헝가리 편’을 개최한다. PAF는 매년 특정 국가나 대학, 주제를 선정해 진행하는 독창적인 국제 교류 축제로, 소통과 다양성, 존중의 가치를 확산하는 데 목적을 두고 있다.
지난해 ‘독일 편’으로 첫선을 보인 PAF는 올해 ‘헝가리’를 테마로 무대를 넓힌다. 이슈트반 새르더해이 주한 헝가리 대사가 축사와 특강을 맡고, 헝가리 명문 에트뵈시로란드대(ELTE)와의 공동 학술대회가 열려 축제의 깊이를 더한다.
행사는 헝가리 영화 상영과 전통 디저트 시식으로 막을 올린다. 24일 본 행사에서는 주한 헝가리 대사, ELTE 이학장, 배우 한수연 씨가 참여하는 TED 형식의 특강과 토크쇼가 준비돼 있으며, 저녁에는 헝가리 전통 음식과 공연을 즐길 수 있는 네트워킹 파티가 진행된다. 이어 금난새 POSTECH 인문사회학부 특임교수가 지휘하는 뉴월드 필하모닉 오케스트라가 브람스 「헝가리 무곡」, 포퍼 「헝가리 랩소디」 등을 선보여 가을밤을 수놓는다.
25일에는 POSTECH과 ELTE 석학들이 참여하는 학술대회가 열린다. 화학, 재료·물리, 수학, 생물학 등 네 개 분야의 최신 연구 성과를 공유하며, 양교 간 공동연구 및 학술 교류 활성화를 위한 기반을 마련할 예정이다. 1635년 설립된 ELTE는 다수의 노벨상 수상자를 배출한 중·동유럽 대표 연구 중심 대학으로, 이번 협력이 갖는 의미는 더욱 크다.
POSTECH 관계자는 “PAF는 문화·예술·학술 교류가 어우러진 POSTECH만의 특별한 축제”라며 “앞으로도 학생들이 글로벌 역량을 키우고 세계와 소통할 수 있도록 다양한 기회를 마련하겠다”고 말했다.
헝가리를 주제로 열리는 올해 축제에 이어 내년에는 어떤 나라가 POSTECH 캠퍼스를 물들일지 벌써부터 관심이 모아지고 있다.
