[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도가 전통적인 제조업의 한계를 넘어, 뷰티·메디컬 산업이라는 새로운 성장 동력을 확보하기 위한 글로벌 행보에 나섰다.
박완수 경남도지사를 단장으로 한 경남대표단은 24일 오전 9시(현지시간) 우즈베키스탄 타슈켄트에서 글로벌 에스테틱 메디컬 기업 '비엔씨 글로벌(BNC Global)'과 투자유치 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
협약식에서 박 지사는 “전통적으로 제조업 중심의 산업 구조를 가진 경남이지만, 청년 일자리 문제 해결과 산업 다변화를 위해 뷰티·메디컬 분야로의 확장은 매우 중요하다”며, “최근 세계적으로 뷰티 산업과 메디컬 관광에 대한 관심이 높아지는 가운데, 유망 기업인 비엔씨 글로벌과 협약을 체결하게 되어 감사하게 생각한다”고 밝혔다.
2018년 설립된 비엔씨 글로벌은 필러, 스킨 부스터 등 20여 개 브랜드를 30여 개국에 수출하며 글로벌 경쟁력을 입증한 기업이다. 2023년에는 '2,000만 달러 수출의 탑'을 수상하며 기술력과 성장 잠재력을 인정받았다.

이번 협약을 통해 비엔씨 글로벌은 경남도 내에 생산 및 물류 시설을 구축하고, 경남의 뷰티 산업 수출 확대와 글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 위한 공동 연구개발에 나설 계획이다.
경남도는 비엔씨 글로벌의 기술력과 경남의 탄탄한 산업 기반이 결합하면 시너지 효과를 창출하여, 에스테틱 메디컬 분야에서 실질적인 성과를 거둘 것으로 기대하고 있다.
박 지사는 "경남은 현대로템을 비롯한 조선, 방산, 항공 등 제조업 중심지로, 철도 인프라 분야에서 협력할 여지가 크다"고 강조하며, △타슈켄트주 내 경남과 협력하는 테크노파크 개설, △창원 LG전자와 우즈베키스탄 기업 간 협력 주선 등을 제안했다.
이에 호자예브 부총리는 "현대로템 고속철 차량이 12월 도착할 예정이라 기대가 크다"며, "창원국립대와 인재 양성 협력을 강화하고, 화학·의학연구단지 건립을 성공적으로 추진할 수 있도록 지원하겠다"고 화답했다.
현재 경남 지역에는 우즈베키스탄 국적자 약 8,000명이 거주하며, 이 중 4,000여 명이 산업 현장에서 중요한 역할을 수행하고 있다. 경남도는 이러한 성공적인 인력 활용 사례를 바탕으로, 우즈베키스탄과의 산업 인력 교류를 더욱 확대해 나갈 계획이다. 이번 경남대표단의 방문은 경남이 제조업 강점을 넘어, 미래 신산업과 국제 교류를 통해 새로운 시대를 열어가는 중요한 발걸음이 될 전망이다.
