[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남대표단이 우즈베키스탄 타슈켄트주를 공식 방문해 첫 우호교류 협정을 체결하고, 철도 산업, 산업인력, 교육 등 다양한 분야에서 실질적인 협력 기반을 마련했다.
경남도는 24일 오후 우즈베키스탄 타슈켄트주와 첫 공식 우호교류 협정을 체결하고 경제·산업·인력 분야의 협력 사업을 본격적으로 추진하기로 했다.
이는 경남도와 중앙아시아 지방정부 간 체결된 최초의 공식 우호협정으로, 양 지역 간 실질적 협력의 출발점이라는 점에서 의미가 크다.
박완수 경남지사는 협정식에서 “타슈켄트주는 우즈베키스탄의 경제와 산업을 선도하는 핵심지역으로, 경남도와의 우호협력은 매우 뜻깊다”며 “경남도는 대한민국 제조업의 중심지로서, 앞으로 산업, 인력, 교육 등 다양한 분야에서 상호 협력을 통해 양 지역의 공동 발전을 이루어 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
조이르 미르자예프(Zoyir Mirzayev) 타슈켄트주 주지사도 “경남도와의 협력은 타슈켄트주의 산업 발전과 인재 양성에 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라며, 실질적인 협력 사업을 적극 추진하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

이번 협정은 지난 3월 알리쉐르 아브두살로모프 주한 우즈베키스탄 대사의 경남 방문을 계기로 논의가 본격화됐으며, 협정식은 산업단지 인근 지역에서 진행돼 단순한 의전행사를 넘어 경제 협력의 실효성을 강조했다.
같은 날 오후, 경남도는 창원대학교와 타슈켄트주 내 4개 국립대학 간 교육·학술 교류 협력 양해각서(MOU) 체결을 주선했다.
협약에는 △타슈켄트 주립 기술공학대학교, △의과대학교, △농업대학교, △체육·스포츠대학교가 참여했으며, 각 대학은 향후 상호 인적 교류, 공동 연구, 교육과정 연계 등 다양한 협력 사업을 추진할 계획이다.
이번 협약으로 창원대학교는 타슈켄트주의 주요 고등교육기관과 실질적 협력 기반을 마련하게 됐으며, 경남도는 교육과 인력 양성 분야까지 교류를 확대함으로써 중앙아시아와의 장기적 파트너십을 구축하게 됐다.
이어 경남대표단은 타슈켄트주가 주최한 지역 기업 교류 행사에도 참석했다. 이 자리에는 타슈켄트주 내 주요 산업 분야 기업 대표들과 경제 관계자들이 다수 참여했으며, 대표단은 현지 기업들과 직접 교류하며 도내 기업과의 협업 가능성을 타진했다.
박 지사는 “공식 협정에 이어 기업 간 네트워크까지 형성한 점에서 의미가 크다”며, “향후 경남 기업의 중앙아시아 진출 확대를 위한 실질적 기반이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
25일 오전에는 해외 우수인력 도입 기반 구축과 철도 산업 협력 논의가 이어졌다.
경남도는 타슈켄트 INNO 테크노파크에서 우즈베키스탄 대외노동청과 산업인력 수급 협력을 위한 양해각서를 체결했다.
이 자리에는 박완수 도지사와 베크조드 무사예프 우즈베키스탄 대외노동청장, 부청장 등 주요 인사가 참석해 상호 협력 의지를 확인했다.

이번 협약은 경남도가 제안한 ‘광역형 비자 제도’로 해외 인력을 안정적으로 도입하기 위한 기반을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다.
박 지사는 “다양한 취업비자를 통해 이미 많은 외국 인력이 경남에서 근무 중”이라며, “우즈베키스탄이 인력공급 계획을 제공하면, 시군 등에 공유해 실질적인 도입이 가능하도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “필요시 양측 지방정부 간 업무협약 체결도 주선하고, 경남 방문 시 실무 지원도 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
또 “광역형 비자를 우즈베키스탄으로 확대해 더 많은 협력 관계를 만들고, 경남이 숙련 인력과 유학생이 정착할 수 있는 환경을 구축해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
이에 대해 무사예프 청장은 “다음 달 한국을 방문할 예정이며, 경남 우수 기업을 직접 둘러보고 싶다”면서 “양측 지방정부 간 가교 역할을 하며 협력을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
이어, 타슈켄트주 철도청에서는 박완수 도지사와 우즈베키스탄 철도청(UTY) 부청장 라흐메토프 히크마툴라, 양측 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 고속철도 산업 분야의 교류 협력 방안을 논의했다.
