경북 직업계고, 전국기능경기대회서 6년 연속 종합우승

【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북 직업계고 학생들이 또 다시 전국 정상에 올랐다.

경북교육청(교육감 임종식)은 지난 20일부터 26일까지 광주에서 열린 제60회 전국기능경기대회에서 전국 최초로 6년 연속 종합우승과 학생부 8년 연속 우승을 달성했다고 29일 밝혔다.

이번 대회에서 경북 선수단은 45개 직종에 137명이 참가해 금메달 7개, 은메달 18개, 동메달 13개를 비롯해 모두 84개의 메달을 쓸어 담았다. 

합산점수는 1,835점으로 타 시·도를 압도하며 우승을 차지했다. 특히 학생 선수만 놓고 보더라도 종합우승이 가능할 정도로 뛰어난 성과를 거뒀다.

구미전자공업고등학교와 금오공업고등학교는 각각 은탑과 동탑 기관표창을 수상하며 ‘기능 명문고’의 위상을 더욱 확실히 했다.

경북은 지난 2018년 전남 대회에서 첫 우승을 차지한 이후 학생부에서는 단 한 번도 우승을 놓치지 않고 있다. 올해도 경북 직업계고가 ‘기술의 메카’임을 증명한 셈이다.

임종식 교육감은 “학생들과 지도교사들이 함께 흘린 땀이 오늘의 쾌거를 이뤄냈다”며 “앞으로도 경북 직업계고가 세계 무대에서도 인정받을 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Students from Gyeongbuk Vocational High School have once again achieved national success.
