충주시는 지난 28일 오후 6시 30분에 탄금공원 특설무대에서 펼쳐진 제23회 대한민국창작향토가요제가 2천여 명 관중의 열띤 응원 속에 마무리됐다고 밝혔다.
(사)한국향토음악인협회(회장 류호담)이 개최하는 대한민국 창작향토가요제는 우리 민족의 얼과 정서가 담긴 고향 노래를 발굴, 보급하기 위해 충청북도와 충주시의 지원을 받아 지역문화 지킨이의 역할을 이어오고 있다.
올해 가요제에는 예심을 거쳐 올라온 13명의 본선 참가자들이 향토가요로 노래실력을 뽐냈다.
경연 결과 ‘청심애가’를 부른 한아름(여/34, 서을 은평구) 씨가 문화체육관광부장관상과 상금 1,000만 원을 받았다.
이어 △금상(상금 400만 원)은 ‘할미할아미바위섬’을 부른 유미선(여/41, 충남 태안군) △은상(상금 200만 원)은 ‘종댕이길’을 부른 박명나(여/57, 충북 충주) △동상(상금 100만 원)은 ‘서해바다’를 부른 두각(남/32, 충북 청주) 등이 차지했다.

한편, 전국의 ‘고향노래’를 발굴 육성하기 위해 1997년 5월 충주에 본부를 두고 창립된 (사)한국향토음악인협회는 전국 25개 시·도지회에서 2천여 명의 회원이 활동하고 있으며, 가요제를 통해 금잔디, 정정아, 박서진, 박혜신, 송봉수, 홍실, 연예진 등의 인기가수를 배출하며 왕성한 활동을 하고 있다.
