【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 APEC 2025 정상회의 공식 부대행사로 추진 중인 글로벌 교육 축제 ‘K-EDU EXPO’ 준비가 순조롭게 진행되며 국제사회의 관심을 모으고 있다.
이번 축제는 단순한 전시와 체험을 넘어, 미래세대 학습 도약을 선도하는 글로벌 협력 플랫폼으로 자리매김하는 것을 목표로 한다.
경북교육청은 한국 교육의 혁신 모델을 세계에 선보이고 국제 교육 네트워크와의 연계를 강화해 미래 교육 방향을 제시하겠다는 계획이다.
축제는 25일 포항에서 열리는 ‘1,000인 음악제’로 시작된다. 학생과 시민이 함께 어우러지는 무대로 화합과 비전을 전하며, 같은 날 저녁 경주 발명체험교육관에서는 교육가족 행복콘서트가 전야제 형식으로 개최된다.
본 행사는 26일부터 28일까지 경주시 일대에서 진행된다. 경상북도교육청발명체험교육관, 경주공업고 청람관, 황남동 고분군 등에서 학술·체험·문화 프로그램이 펼쳐지며, 인공지능(AI)과 디지털 전환, 생태·융합 교육 등을 주제로 한 80여 개 미래교육 비전 부스가 운영된다. 전남·대구교육청 등 다른 시도 교육청도 참여해 전국적 교육 축제로 확산된다.
특히 스탠퍼드대학교 등 해외 석학과 국내 전문가들이 참여하는 포럼이 열려 국제적 담론을 형성할 예정이다. 기조 강연에서는 ‘AI를 바둑으로 꺾은 마지막 인간’ 이세돌과 온라인 학습 혁신가 살만 칸(칸 아카데미 설립자)이 온·오프라인으로 특별 대담을 진행하며, AI와 학습 플랫폼의 미래를 주제로 현장 질의응답과 자유 토론을 펼친다.
임종식 교육감은 “K-EDU EXPO는 교육과 기술, 도전 정신이 만나 세계와 연결되는 새로운 출발점이 될 것”이라며, “세계를 잇는 교육, 미래를 여는 교육, 경북교육이 앞장서겠다”고 강조했다.
