현지 경찰이 발급한 사망진단서에는 사인이 ‘심장마비(고문으로 인한 극심한 통증)’로 적혀 있었다. A씨 가족은 출국 직후 ‘조선족 말투’를 쓰는 협박범으로부터 “A씨가 사고를 쳤으니 해결하라”며 5천만 원이 넘는 금전을 요구받고, 곧바로 경찰과 외교부에 신고했다.

경찰 관계자는 “해외 취업이나 단기 아르바이트 명목으로 접근하는 불법 금융조직의 모집 수법이 날로 교묘해지고 있다”며 “학생층을 중심으로 각별한 주의가 필요하다”고 당부했다.
