(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 13일, 친환경 바이오산업 육성 전략의 일환으로 추진 중인 ‘바이오플라스틱 지원센터 구축사업’ 지원 과제 가운데 2건이 과학기술정보통신부 주관 연구개발특구 신기술 실증특례에 최종 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면,이번 실증특례는 현행 폐기물관리법상 생분해성 플라스틱의 폐기물 분류가 불명확해 발생하는 각종 규제를 대상으로 실증을 진행하고, 그 결과 규제 개선 필요성이 인정되면 관련 법령을 정비하는 제도이다.
이를 통해 상용화에 어려움을 겪던 바이오플라스틱 혁신 기술을 실제 환경에서 검증하고 제도 개선의 발판을 마련할 수 있게 된다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
이번에 선정된 실증특례 과제는 ㈜금강바이오, 그린그림㈜, ㈜동성케미컬 협력체(consortium)의 ‘생분해성 플라스틱 퇴비화 장치 및 시스템’과 ㈜한새, ㈜교원프라퍼티 컨소시엄의 ‘사용 후 생분해성 공기청정기 필터 모듈 재활용 시스템’2건이다.
특히, 인천시 관내 기업이 주도적으로 참여해 실증특례를 추진함에 따라 지역 친환경 바이오산업의 새로운 성장 동력 확보가 기대된다.
이번 실증특례는 인천강소연구개발특구(인천대학교) 내에서 향후 2년간 실증이 진행될 예정이다.
