【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스(경주) 호텔관광경영학과가 지난 10월 16일 교내 진흥관 103강의실에서 ‘APEC 2025 KOREA’ 기간 중 현장운영을 담당할 호텔관광 전문 인력단 ‘MISO’(Make Impression, Share Openness) 출범식을 열고, 관련 기관 및 기업들과 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

‘MISO’는 “진심으로 사람을 맞이하고, 열린 마음으로 세상을 연결한다”는 의미를 담고 있으며, 호텔관광경영학전공 학생 53명으로 구성됐다. 이들은 2025년 경주에서 열리는 APEC 정상회의에서 숙박, 의전, 수송 등 다양한 분야의 현장 운영을 지원하며, ‘신라 천년의 미소’를 담은 경주의 호스피탈리티를 세계에 알릴 예정이다.
이날 행사는 박종구 학과장의 개회사를 시작으로 △경상북도 APEC준비지원단 △㈜덱스코 △NH농협경주교육원 △㈜엠앤티코리아 등 4개 기관과의 업무협약 체결식, 경상북도 APEC준비지원단장의 격려사, 그리고 MISO 대표 학생에게 APEC 기념배지를 수여하는 순으로 진행됐다.
박종구 호텔관광경영학과장은 “이번 출범식과 협약식은 APEC 2025 KOREA 개최지인 경주의 지역대학으로서 미래 지역관광산업을 이끌 인재 양성을 위한 발판을 마련한 것”이라며 “MICE, 호텔, 관광 분야의 전문교육을 받은 학생들이 실제 현장에서 전공지식을 발휘할 수 있는 의미 있는 기회가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
김상철 경상북도 APEC준비지원단장은 “2025 APEC 정상회의를 계기로 경주뿐 아니라 경상북도 전체 관광산업의 발전을 위해 긴밀히 협력할 것”이라며 “지역사회 발전에 기여하는 동국대 WISE캠퍼스의 역할을 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 호텔관광경영학과는 우리나라 관광산업의 발상지인 경주에서 40년 전통을 이어온 대표 학과로, 지난 반세기 동안 국내 호텔·관광 분야의 핵심 인재를 다수 배출해왔다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Launches "MISO," a Field Operations Team for APEC 2025

The event began with opening remarks by Department Head Park Jong-gu, followed by a business agreement signing ceremony with four organizations: the Gyeongsangbuk-do APEC Preparation Support Team, Dexco Co., Ltd., NH Nonghyup Gyeongju Training Center, and M&T Korea Co., Ltd. Encouragement from the Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do APEC Preparation Support Team, and the presentation of an APEC commemorative badge to the MISO representative student.
Dean Park Jong-gu of the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management stated, "This inauguration ceremony and agreement signing ceremony establish a foundation for nurturing future leaders in the regional tourism industry in Gyeongju, the host city of APEC 2025 KOREA. This will provide a meaningful opportunity for students who have received specialized training in MICE, hotel, and tourism to apply their specialized knowledge in real-world settings."
Kim Sang-cheol, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do APEC Preparation Support Team, stated, "We will work closely together to develop the tourism industry not only in Gyeongju but also throughout Gyeongsangbuk-do, taking advantage of the 2025 APEC Summit. We look forward to the role of Dongguk University's WISE Campus in contributing to the development of the local community."
