법무부, 오는 24일부터 단기체류 외국인 숙박신고제 시행

법무부에 따르면, 숙박신고제가 시행되면 숙박외국인은 숙박업자에게 여권 등 자료를 제공하여야 하며, 숙박업자는 해당 외국인이 숙박한 때 또는 경보가 발령된 때부터 12시간 이내에 단기체류외국인 숙박신고 웹페이지 또는 모바일 앱을 통해 법무부장관에게 숙박외국인의 국적, 생년월일, 여권번호 등을 제출해야 한다. 

정성호 법무부장관은 “숙박신고제 시행으로 해당 기간 한국을 찾은 외국인과 관련 숙박업계가 불편을 겪게 될 것으로 예상되나, APEC 행사 기간 동안 각국 정상을 포함한 외국인 방문객과 국민 모두의 안전을 위해 필요한 조치인 만큼 방문 외국인과 숙박업계의 적극적인 협조를 당부드린다.”고 밝혔다.
