이동환 고양시장은 21일 제298회 고양특례시의회 임시회 개회를 앞두고 김운남 의장을 만나 고양시 경제자유구역 지정 추진, S2부지 매각, 조직개편안 통과 등 주요 현안에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다.
이 시장은 "고양시가 미래성장 중심도시로 도약하기 위해서는 의회와 집행부의 긴밀한 협력이 필수적"이라며 "108만 시민의 삶과 직결되는 현안이 차질 없이 추진될 수 있도록 상생의 정책이 이뤄지길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
