(재)파주문화재단, ‘제18회 국제미술교류전 <파주 잇다: 베트남·강릉·파주>’ 개최

(재)파주문화재단(대표이사 김영준)은 예술을 통한 국제 교류와 지역 간 문화 연대를 강화하기 위해 ‘제18회 국제미술교류전 <파주 잇다: 베트남·강릉·파주>’를 공동 주관한다고 27일 밝혔다.

이번 전시는 10월 24일(금)부터 30일(목)까지 DMZ 임진각 평화누리 대피소에서 열리며, 파주와 자매도시 강릉을 비롯해 베트남 호치민 지역의 작가 100여 명이 참여한다. 

참여 작가들은 서양화, 한국화, 조각, 공예, 서예 등 다양한 장르의 작품을 선보이며, 예술을 매개로 국경과 문화를 넘어선 교류와 소통의 장을 마련할 예정이다.

올해 행사는 기존의 ‘국제교류전’에서 명칭을 ‘파주 잇다’로 변경하며 새롭게 출발한다. 

특히 분단의 상징 공간인 임진각 대피소에서 열리는 이번 전시는 서로 다른 문화권의 예술가들이 평화의 메시지를 공유하고, 예술을 통해 연대하는 뜻깊은 자리가 될 것으로 기대된다.

파주문화재단은 한정된 전시 공간의 제약을 극복하기 위해 파주시 안전총괄과와 긴밀히 협력해 DMZ 임진각 평화누리 대피소를 전시 장소로 확보했으며 이를 통해 ‘평화의 도시 파주’의 상징성과 예술적 위상을 한층 높이는 계기를 마련했다.

김영준 대표이사는 “재단은 앞으로도 파주시를 비롯한 유관기관과 협력해 지역 문화예술 발전과 국제 예술교류 확대를 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

The Paju Cultural Foundation (CEO Kim Young-jun) announced on the 27th that it will co-host the "18th International Art Exchange Exhibition <Paju Connect: Vietnam, Gangneung, Paju>" to strengthen international exchange and regional cultural solidarity through art.

The exhibition will be held at the DMZ Imjingak Peace Nuri Shelter from Friday, October 24th to Thursday, October 30th. Approximately 100 artists from Paju, its sister city Gangneung, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam will participate.

Participating artists will showcase works of various genres, including Western painting, Korean painting, sculpture, crafts, and calligraphy, creating a forum for exchange and communication across borders and cultures through art.

This year's event marks a fresh start, renaming the previous "International Exchange Exhibition" to "Paju Connect."

This exhibition, held at the Imjingak Shelter, a symbolic space of division, is expected to be a meaningful opportunity for artists from different cultures to share messages of peace and solidarity through art.

To overcome the limitations of limited exhibition space, the Paju Cultural Foundation worked closely with the Paju City Safety Management Division to secure the DMZ Imjingak Peace Nuri Shelter as the exhibition venue, further enhancing the symbolism and artistic status of "Paju, the City of Peace."

CEO Kim Young-jun stated, "The Foundation will continue to actively support the development of local culture and arts and expand international artistic exchange by collaborating with Paju City and related organizations."
