경인지방통계청에 따르면, 수도권 통계발전 협의체는 경인지방통계청이 2017년부터 매년 개최하는 회의로, 경인지방통계청이 지역통계 우수사례 공모전 우수기관 시상 및 우수사례 발표, 지역통계 정책활용 활성화 방안을 토의하는 자리이다.
올해 공모전에서는 경기도와 서울시 성동구가 우수상을 수상하였고, 서울시 강동구, 경기도 안산시·광명시·이천시 등 4개 기관이 장려상을 수상했다.
이어서 진행된 우수사례 발표에서는 경기도의 ‘청년세대 가족형성통계‘, 성동구의 ‘도시데이터 분석을 통한 성공버스 및 정원도시 운영‘, 강동구의 ‘그늘막 설치 최적지 빅데이터 분석‘ 사례가 발표됐으며, 지역통계의 정책활용 활성화 방안에 대한 토의로 마무리됐다.
경인지방통계청장은 “지방정부가 통계·데이터에 기반한 정책결정과 이를 통해 국민들의 편익을 제고하는 노력이 중요한 만큼 지역통계를 활용한 우수사례를 공유하는 노력 또한 필요하다”고 말했다.
