파주보건소는 시민이 안심하고 생활할 수 있는 건강한 도시환경을 조성하기 위해 지난 17일부터 12월 5일까지 ‘2025년 금연구역 합동점검 및 단속’을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 금연 관련 민원이 자주 발생하는 지역과 최근 확대한 법정 금연구역을 중심으로 진행되며, 금연 홍보 강화와 현장 점검을 통해 건강한 금연환경을 조성하는 것이 목표다.
특히 지난 10월 2일 개정된 「국민건강증진법」에 따라 대안교육기관(교사 및 운동장 포함)이 새롭게 법정 금연구역으로 지정되면서 점검 범위가 더욱 확대됐으며 이에 따라 학교 및 청소년시설 주변, 교육시설 밀집 지역을 중심으로 금연 계도와 홍보 활동이 강화될 예정이다.
이번 합동점검에는 금촌2동 청소년지도협의회가 참여해 청소년 이용시설과 게임 제공업소 등 청소년 밀집 지역을 중심으로 금연 홍보 활동을 지원하며, 청소년 대상 금연 안내와 흡연 예방 캠페인도 병행한다.
주요 점검 항목은 담배 자동판매기 설치 장소 및 성인인증 장치 부착 여부, 금연구역 표지판·스티커 설치 여부, 흡연실 설치 기준 준수 여부, 금연구역 내 흡연행위(전자담배 포함)에 대한 단속 등이다.
이한상 파주보건소장은 “이번 합동점검을 통해 시민들이 간접흡연으로부터 더욱 안전하게 보호받고 공공장소 내 금연문화가 확산되길 기대한다”며 “금연구역 내 흡연행위는 과태료 부과 대상인 만큼 시민들의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
