파주시가 지속가능한 도시로의 도약을 위해 2025년 목표 이행과제를 점검하고 향후 추진 방향을 논의하는 자리를 마련했다.
파주시는 지난 28일 금촌어울림센터 교육장에서 파주시 지속가능발전위원회 정기 회의를 개최하고 2024년 10월 수립한 기본계획의 목표 이행과제와 지표 전반을 점검했다고 밝혔다.

이날 회의에서 위원들은 분야별 추진 현황을 면밀히 분석했다.
2024년 이행지표 달성률이 78%로 비교적 높게 나타났으나 지표별 격차가 존재한다는 평가가 나왔다.
특히 경제 분야에서의 과제가 두드러졌다.
대규모 예산 투입과 연차별 추진이 필요한 사업이 많은 경제 분야에서는 추가적인 정책적 지원이 필요하다는 의견이 다수 제시됐다.
위원들은 또한 경제·사회·환경·제도 전 영역에서 균형 있는 지속가능발전을 이루기 위해서는 지역사회 참여 확대와 다양한 이해관계자 간 소통을 강화해 실행 체계 기반을 확립하는 것이 중요하다고 강조했다.
이러한 논의 결과, 위원들은 실질적인 지표 점검과 정책 효과성을 높이기 위해 위원회 산하에 민간 협력을 기반으로 한 실무 중심의 소위원회를 구성하기로 합의했다.
조윤옥 기후위기대응과장은 "2026년 파주시에서 경기도 지속가능발전대회를 개최해 지속가능한 발전의 확산과 실질적인 변화를 이끌어낼 것으로 기대한다"며 "이번 정기 회의가 발전하는 파주의 미래를 더욱 밝게 만드는 발판이 될 것"이라고 말했다.
한편, 파주시는 이번 점검 결과를 향후 지속가능발전 지표관리 계획에 반영해 균형 잡힌 지속가능발전을 추진하고 지속가능 선도도시로 도약하기 위한 노력을 더욱 강화할 계획이다.
