경기도와 고양특례시가 주최하고 고양연구원, 고양시탄소중립지원센터, 경기도지속가능발전협의회, 고양시지속가능발전협의회, 한국철강협회가 공동주관한 기후테크 미래전략 심포지엄이 지난달 27일 빛마루방송지원센터 세미나실에서 성황리에 마무리됐다.

이번 심포지엄은 도시와 자원순환 분야 전문가들이 참석해 도시시스템과 기술혁신, 시민생활 실천을 아우르는 탈탄소 탄소중립 전략을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.
행사에는 고양시민과 학계, 산업계, 연구기관 관계자 등 50여 명이 참석해 기후테크 기반 도시전환 전략에 뜨거운 관심을 보였으며 ‘도시와 기술, 시민이 함께 여는 탄소중립 미래도시’를 주제로 다양한 논의가 이어졌다.
이동환 고양특례시장은 영상 환영사를 통해 기후테크 기반 혁신을 통해 도시 전반의 탄소배출을 체계적으로 줄이고 지속가능성을 높이는 미래도시 모델을 시민과 함께 구축하겠다고 강조했다.
김운남 고양특례시의회 의장도 영상 축사를 통해 탄소중립 실현은 정책적 결단과 시민 생활 속 실천이 함께할 때 성과를 만들 수 있다며 시의회 역시 제도적 뒷받침과 정책 논의를 적극적으로 이어가겠다고 밝혔다.
이어진 주제발표에서 임지열 고양시 탄소중립지원센터장은 도시 물 관리 시스템을 중심으로 한 탈탄소 도시 추진 방향을 제시하며 자연기능과 기후기술, 시민 중심 요소의 유기적 연계가 핵심이라고 설명했다.
박상헌 한국철강협회 이사는 유출지하수 재이용 시설을 통한 탈탄소 개선 방안과 민간 참여 확대, 정책 연계 등 다양한 전략을 제시했다.
마지막 발표에서 오은석 경기도지속가능발전협의회 기후위기에너지전환위원장은 폐기물 분야를 중심으로 한 시민생활 속 탄소중립 실천 방안을 설명하며 제품설계, 녹색소비, 분리배출 강화 등 시민 참여 전략의 중요성을 강조했다.
패널토론은 이현동 전 건설기술연구원 부원장이 좌장을 맡아 진행됐다.
도종남 수석연구원, 안동욱 수석연구원, 장동빈 정책실장, 이은경 위원, 정재형 센터장이 참여해 기후테크 기반 통합 도시정책 전략을 심도 있게 논의했으며 특히 시민 패널들이 생활 속 환경문제와 개선 필요성을 직접 제시해 공감대를 높였다.
