이날 협약식에는 김영환 도지사, 조병옥 음성군수, SPC그룹 허진수 부회장과 도세호 사장을 비롯한 주요 관계자가 참석해 상호 협력을 약속했다. 또 임호선 국회의원과 김순구 충북개발공사 사장도 함께하며, 이번 투자가 지역발전에 미칠 긍정적 영향에 대해 기대감을 표했다.
협약체결로 SPC그룹은 음성군 휴먼스마트밸리 18만2866㎡ 부지에 총 3000억 원을 투자해 통합생산센터를 구축할 계획이다. 센터는 오는 2026년 착공해 2028년 가동을 목표로, 단계적으로 추진된다.
특히 SPC그룹이 새롭게 선보일 통합생산센터는 AI, IoT 센서, 로봇 자동화 등 첨단 기술을 도입한 ‘안전 중심 스마트 팩토리’로 구축할 계획이다.
이를 통해 생산 공정의 위험 요소를 실시간으로 점검, 제어하는 시스템을 구축하고 공정의 안정성과 효율성을 제고할 방침이다. 더불어 지역 내 대규모 일자리 창출로 지역 경제 활성화에도 기여할 전망이다.
