브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= NHN이 시니어 케어 전문 기업들과 손잡고 인공지능 기반 스마트홈 돌봄 서비스 구축에 나선다.
NHN(대표 정우진)은 자회사 와플랫(대표 황선영), AI 케어 서비스 전문 기업 마크노바(대표 최혁)와 ‘AI 기반 스마트홈 돌봄 서비스 구축 및 운영’을 위한 3자 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 30일 밝혔다.
협약식은 지난 29일 경기도 성남시 판교에 위치한 NHN 사옥 ‘플레이뮤지엄’에서 열렸으며, NHN 황선영 법무정책그룹 이사(겸 와플랫 대표), 마크노바 최혁 대표, 와플랫 이새미 팀장 등 관계자들이 참석했다.
이번 협약은 초고령사회 진입에 따른 돌봄 인력 부족 문제를 해결하기 위해, AI 기술을 실제 주거 공간에 적용한 ‘AI 스마트홈 돌봄’ 환경을 구축하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 3사는 NHN의 대규모 AI 인프라, 와플랫의 통합 돌봄 플랫폼 운영 역량, 마크노바의 케어 디바이스 및 현장 사업 노하우를 결합하기로 했다.
NHN은 국가 AI 데이터센터 운영 경험과 GPU 인프라 구축 역량을 바탕으로 AI 돌봄 서비스에 최적화된 인프라 환경을 지원한다. 특히 정부의 ‘독자 AI 파운데이션 모델(국가대표 LLM) 개발 프로젝트’ 참여를 통해 축적한 기술력을 활용해 지능형 돌봄 서비스 고도화를 뒷받침할 계획이다.
와플랫은 스마트폰 기반 통합 돌봄 서비스 ‘와플랫 AI 생활지원사’를 운영 중이다. 해당 서비스는 2024년 7월 출시 이후 전국 23개 지자체로 확산됐으며, ‘50대 여성 생활지원사’ 페르소나를 적용한 AI 휴먼 UX를 통해 어르신 사용률 95%를 기록하는 등 현장 활용성을 입증했다. 이번 협약을 통해 와플랫은 기존 서비스를 스마트홈 환경과 연동한 고도화된 AI 돌봄 서비스로 확장할 예정이다.
마크노바는 보건복지부의 ‘독거노인·장애인 응급안전안심서비스’와 ‘AI·IoT 기반 어르신 건강관리 사업’에 참여하며 AI 케어 디바이스와 서비스를 직접 기획·개발해온 기업이다. 협약에 따라 마크노바의 AI 케어 디바이스는 가정 내 스마트홈 게이트웨이 역할을 수행하며, 각종 IoT 센서와 혈당계·혈압계·체중계 등 건강관리 기기, 와플랫 서비스와 연동돼 어르신의 건강과 안전을 상시 지원하는 통합 돌봄 환경을 구현하게 된다.

황선영 NHN 법무정책그룹 이사(겸 와플랫 대표)는 “초고령사회에서 돌봄 사각지대를 해소하기 위해서는 생활 공간 중심의 디지털 전환이 필수적”이라며 “NHN의 AI 기술력과 마크노바의 현장 기기 기술을 융합해 어르신들이 살던 곳에서 건강한 노후를 보낼 수 있는 지속 가능한 AI 스마트홈 인프라를 구축해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 NHN과 와플랫은 보건복지부 주관 ‘한국형 ARPA-H 프로젝트’ 참여와 함께 전국 지자체 대상 서비스 확산을 통해 국내 AI 돌봄 시장 혁신을 주도하고 있다. 현재 전국 23개 지자체에서 운영 중인 와플랫 ‘AI 생활지원사’는 내년 40여 개 지자체로 확대될 전망이다.
