세종시의회 교육안전위원회는 29일 교육현장 현안을 파악하고 실효성을 제고하기 위해 세종대성고와 유아생태체험센터를 방문했다고 밝혔다.
30일 시의회에 따르면 교안위가 이날 방문한 세종대성고는 세종시 관내 유일의 사립고등학교이다. 지난 1966년 성남고로 개교해 2020년 세종대성고등학교로 교명을 변경했다.
세종유아생태체험센터 ‘솔솔놀이터’는 자연친화적 놀이 교육을 교육과정 안팎에서 체험할 수 있는 시설로 세종시 관내 유아와 지역 사회가 자연을 중심으로 어우러지는 공간을 제공하고 있다.
현장방문에서 참석자들은 사립학교인 세종대성고등학교의 운영 현황과 우수 사례를 보고받았으며, 학교운영 전반에 대한 고충을 청취하고 협조 방안에 대해 논의했다.
특히 ▲노후 학교 시설 보수 ▲융합교육과정 운영 ▲첨단과학실 및 지능형과학실 설치 운영 등에 대한 의견을 주고받으며 세종대성고등학교의 학사가 효과적으로 운영될 수 있도록 다양한 방안을 모색했다.
세종유아생태체험센터에서는 운영을 위한 준비가 철저하게 이루어지고 있는지에 대한 심도 있는 검토도 이루어졌다.
