【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군립도서관이 문화체육관광부가 주최하고 (재)한국도서관문화진흥원이 주관한 ‘2026년 작은도서관 순회사서 지원사업’에 선정됐다고 15일 밝혔다.
이번 사업에는 전국 131개 공공도서관이 선정됐으며 충북에서는 증평군립도서관을 포함해 4곳이 선정됐다.
증평군립도서관은 국비 2700만 원을 지원받아 순회 사서 1명을 채용한다.
순회 사서는 2월부터 11월까지 지역 내 작은도서관 4곳(송산만화, 코아루, 공립창의파크, 공립어울림)을 순회하며 장서 관리와 독서문화 프로그램 운영을 지원할 예정이다.
이를 통해 전문 인력 확보에 어려움을 겪어온 작은도서관의 운영 안정성을 높이고, 이용자 대상 서비스의 질적 향상을 도모할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
특히 이번 순회사서 지원은 공공도서관과 작은도서관 간 협력체계를 강화하고, 지역 단위 독서문화 생태계를 촘촘히 구축하는 계기가 될 것으로 평가된다.
군 관계자는 “작은도서관 간 연계를 통해 도서관 접근성을 높이고, 일상 속에서 책을 접할 수 있는 ‘도서관 20분 도시’ 구현에 힘쓰겠다”며 “이번 사업을 계기로 군민이 체감하는 도서관 서비스가 한층 강화될 것”이라고 말했다.
