파주시환경센터 '에코온'이 조선시대 과거제를 현대적으로 재해석한 기후문화축제를 열어 시민들의 호응을 얻었다.
에코온은 지난 10일 운정행복센터에서 '기후행동과 함께하는 율곡별시'를 개최하고 시민 300명과 함께 성공적으로 행사를 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

'율곡별시'는 조선시대 사상가 율곡 이이의 학문 정신과 질문 방식을 현대적으로 재해석한 참여형 기후 문화행사다.
시험과 축제를 결합한 형식으로 가족, 청소년, 일반 시민이 함께 기후 위기와 탄소중립에 대해 배우고 즐길 수 있도록 구성됐다.
행사는 조선시대 과거제 형식을 차용해 초시-복시-전시의 3단계로 진행됐다.
초시에서는 OX 퀴즈를 통해 기후 위기와 탄소중립 기초 개념을 확인했고, 복시에서는 객관식 시험으로 기후·환경 이해도를 점검했다.
마지막 전시에서는 참가자들이 일상에서 실천할 기후행동을 담은 '기후행동 선언문'을 작성하며 성찰의 시간을 가졌다.
특히 이번 행사는 정답 맞히기 경쟁이 아닌, 시험을 통해 얻은 인식을 실천 다짐으로 연결하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
또 율곡 이이가 13세에 과거 급제한 역사적 사실에 착안해 2013년생 대상 특별시험을 함께 진행해 참가자들의 관심을 끌었다.
신청자 연령 분석 결과, 전체 신청자의 53.6%가 아동·청소년, 41.9%가 중장년으로 나타나 미래세대 중심의 가족 참여형 기후 문화 교육 행사로서의 성격이 뚜렷했다.
조윤옥 기후위기대응과장은 "기후 위기 대응은 행정의 정책 추진만으로는 한계가 있으며, 시민 한 사람 한 사람의 인식 전환과 실천이 무엇보다 중요하다"며 "율곡별시는 시민이 스스로 질문하고 답을 찾는 과정을 통해 기후행동의 출발점을 마련했다는 점에서 의미 있는 시도였다"고 말했다.
에코온 관계자는 "앞으로도 지역의 역사·문화 자산을 활용한 참여형 기후행동 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
