파주시가 지역 학생들의 진로·진학 설계를 위한 종합 지원체계를 본격 가동한다.
시는 최근 '파주시 진로진학지원센터'를 출판단지 복합문화센터로 이전·개소했다고 밝혔다.
그동안 민간시설에서 운영되던 센터를 공공시설로 옮겨 운영 효율성을 높이고, 절감된 예산을 프로그램 강화와 서비스 확대에 재투자한다는 계획이다.

지난해 12월 말 이전을 완료한 센터는 명칭도 기존 '진로체험지원센터'에서 '진로진학지원센터'로 전격 개편했다.
급변하는 교육 환경과 입시제도에 발맞춰 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 진로진학 서비스를 제공하기 위한 조치다.
센터는 디지털 대전환과 인공지능(AI) 시대에 발맞춘 미래형 교육 프로그램을 대폭 강화했다.

인공지능 활용 지능형 로봇 교육, 소프트웨어·인공지능 캠프, AI 기반 로봇 경진대회 등을 운영해 학생들이 첨단 기술을 직접 구현하고 창의적 문제해결 능력을 키울 수 있도록 지원한다.
학부모들의 수요가 높았던 진학지원 서비스도 대폭 확대된다.
고입·대입 설명회, 1대1 맞춤형 입시상담, 논술 및 면접 특강, 학교생활기록부 관리 전략 등 실질적인 진학정보를 제공해 학생들이 진로 탐색부터 실제 진학 준비까지 원스톱으로 지원받을 수 있게 됐다.
파주시 관계자는 "진로진학지원센터는 아이들이 자신의 가능성을 발견하고 한 걸음 앞선 미래를 설계할 수 있도록 돕는 공간"이라며 "학생 한 명 한 명의 미래가 지역의 경쟁력이 되도록 진로·미래 설계 지원을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
