김영태 위원장은 “구미문화재단 대표이사는 지역 문화예술 진흥과 건강한 예술 생태계 조성을 위해 문화예술 정책을 기획·지원하고 예술인과 시민을 연결하는 중추적인 역할을 수행하는 막중한 자리”라며 “후보자의 자질과 능력을 철저히 검증하고자 노력했다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “후보자가 최종 임명된다면 인사청문회 과정에서 제기된 여러 지적사항을 면밀히 검토·보완해 문화와 예술이 넘치는 ‘낭만도시 구미’를 만드는 데 최선을 다해주길 바란다”고 당부했다.
