27일 태백시는 오는 31일부터 내달 1일까지 이틀간 황지연못 내 태백문화광장 일원에서 ‘2026년 태백 in 도심 백패킹 페스티벌’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 산속이 아닌 도심 공간을 캠핑장으로 활용한다는 점이 가장 큰 특징이다. 참가자들은 태백의 랜드마크인 황지연못을 출발해 당골광장, 석탄박물관, 황지자유시장으로 이어지는 트레킹 코스를 완주하고, 태백문화광장에 텐트를 치고 숙박하며 겨울밤의 정취를 만끽하게 된다.
특히 이번 행사는 현재 열리고 있는 ‘제33회 태백산 눈축제’와 연계해 진행되어 시너지를 낼 전망이다. 낮에는 눈축제의 거대한 눈 조각과 공연을 관람하고, 밤에는 도심 속 캠핑을 즐길 수 있어 참가자들에게 색다른 겨울 추억을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.
