의정부시는 한국외식업중앙회 의정부시지부와 호원2동 체육진흥회가 설 명절과 연말연시를 맞아 소외된 이웃을 위한 기탁식을 가졌다고 3일 밝혔다.

먼저 지난 2일, 한국외식업중앙회 경기도지회 의정부시지부(지부장 김성군)는 시청을 방문해 관내 저소득 가구를 위해 업소별 대표 음식 500인분(환가액 620만 원 상당)을 기탁했다.
이 단체는 지난 2022년부터 매년 성금과 음식을 기부하며 나눔 문화를 선도해왔다. 이날 전달식에는 김성군 지부장(큰형네의정부부대찌개)을 비롯해 남효진(의정축산식당), 김은주(철원양평해장국), 김현식(구끼구끼 민락본점), 이상훈(송추가마골 의정부점) 대표 등 지역 외식업계 주요 임원진이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다. 김성군 지부장은 "회원들이 십시일반 모은 정성으로 이웃들에게 따뜻한 한 끼를 대접할 수 있어 기쁘다"고 전했다.
앞서 지난 1월 30일에는 호원2동 체육진흥회(회장 박성원)가 호원2동 주민센터를 찾아 국수 세트 136개를 전달했다. 호원2동 체육진흥회는 환경정화 활동뿐만 아니라 명절마다 꾸준히 나눔을 실천하는 모범 단체다. 박성원 회장은 "작은 정성이지만 이웃들이 따뜻한 명절을 보내는 데 보탬이 되길 바란다"고 말했다.
시 관계자는 "경기 침체로 어려운 시기임에도 불구하고 매년 잊지 않고 이웃 사랑을 실천해 주시는 외식업지부와 체육진흥회 회원분들께 깊이 감사드린다"며 "기탁된 물품은 도움이 필요한 곳에 소중히 전달하겠다"고 밝혔다.
