[브레이크뉴스=강동호 기자] 합천군은 5일 합천영상테마파크 청와대 세트장에서 2027~2031년 춘·추계 전국 고등축구대회 개최 협약식을 가졌다.
이날 협약식은 김윤철 합천군수, 정몽규 대한축구협회장, 백찬문 경남축구협회장, 유달형 합천군체육회장, 안진호 합천군축구협회장, 문정욱 합천군스포츠클럽회장을 비롯한 주요 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
협약서는 2027~2031년 춘·추계 전국 고등축구대회의 개최 시기와 대회의 성공적인 개최를 위한 합천군과 대한축구협회의 상호협력 내용을 담고 있다.
대회는 내년 춘계대회부터 2031년 추계대회까지 5년간 합천군 군민체육공원 인조구장 일원에서 개최된다.
합천군은 그 동안 대한축구협회와 2021년 춘계 전국 고등축구대회를 시작으로 매년 2차례 춘·추계 전국 고등축구대회를 합천에서 개최해 왔으며 해당 대회의 협약기간은 2026년 추계 전국 고등축구대회 까지다.
군은 이번 협약을 통해 또 다시 5년간 합천에서 춘·추계 전국고등축구대회를 개최하게 되면서 양 기관의 협력관계는 더욱 공고해질 것으로 기대하고 있으며, 이로써 축구 도시로써 한 단계 더 도약할 수 있는 새로운 발판을 맞이할 수 있게 됐다는 평이다.
정몽규 대한축구협회장은 “합천군은 그 동안 많은 축구대회를 성공적으로 개최한 풍부한 경험이 있다”며 “앞으로 열릴 춘추계 전국 고등축구대회에서도 성공적인 대회 개최를 위해 상호간 적극 협력하자”고 말했다.
김윤철 합천군수는 “합천군은 한국 고등축구 발전을 위해 대한축구협회와 긴밀한 협력을 이어 나가겠다”며, “이번 협약이 고등축구의 저변 확대는 물론 지역 상권 활성화에도 긍정적인 효과를 가져 올 것으로 기대한다”고 전했다.
한편, 올해 합천에는 1월 동계전지훈련을 시작으로 2월 춘계 전국고등축구대회, 4월 춘계 한국여자축구연맹전, 6월 여왕기 전국여자축구대회, 7월 추계 전국고등축구대회, 8월 대학축구연맹전, 11월 추계 한국여자축구연맹전까지 7개의 전국규모 축구행사를 개최하게 돼 그 어느 해보다 축구대회가 지역경제에 큰 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 보인다.
