6주기 교원양성기관 역량진단서 최우수 획득… 국공립 사범대 중 ‘유일’
2003년 이후 20년 넘게 정점 유지, 2027학년도 양성 정원 100% 보존

국립공주대학교 사범대학이 대한민국 최고의 교원 양성 기관으로서의 위상을 다시 한번 공고히 했다. 국립공주대는 교육부와 한국교육개발원이 주관한 ‘6주기 교원양성기관 역량진단’에서 최우수 등급인 ‘A등급’을 획득했다고 6일 밝혔다.
특히 이번 성과는 전국 국·공립 사범대학 가운데 유일하게 2주기(2003년)부터 시작해 3·4·5주기를 거쳐 이번 6주기(2025년)까지 5회 연속 최우수 등급을 달성했다는 점에서 그 의미가 남다르다.
20년이 넘는 세월 동안 단 한 번도 정상을 놓치지 않으며 명실상부한 ‘예비 교사 양성의 요람’임을 입증한 셈이다.
교육부의 역량진단은 교원 양성 기관의 교육 여건, 교육과정 운영, 성과 관리 등 대학의 교육 역량을 종합적으로 엄격히 평가하는 국가 단위 인증 제도다.
국립공주대 사범대학은 이번 평가에서 현장 연계형 교육실습과 학생 맞춤형 지도 체계, 안정적인 교수진 확보 등 전 영역에서 고른 고득점을 기록하며 탁월한 교육 품질을 인정받았다.
이번 A등급 획득에 따라 국립공주대는 강력한 인센티브를 확보하게 됐다. 우선 학령인구 감소에 따른 교원 양성 정원 감축 기조 속에서도 2027학년도 입학 정원을 감축 없이 그대로 유지할 수 있게 됐다. 또한 교육부 장관 표창 대상 기관으로 선정되는 영예도 안게 된다.
그동안 국립공주대는 현직 교사와 전문가를 초청한 실무 특강, 수업 실연 컨설팅, 예비교사 인성 강화 프로그램 등 이론과 현장을 잇는 차별화된 교육과정을 운영해 왔다. 이러한 체계적인 시스템은 매년 높은 임용시험 합격률로 이어지며 사범대학의 경쟁력을 뒷받침해 왔다.
