충남 부여 정치 지형의 중심에서 새로운 바람이 불고 있다.
박정현 부여군수가 7일 오후 3시 부여국민체육센터에서 저서 '변방에서 부는 바람' 출판기념회를 열고, 지역 중심의 정치 비전과 향후 도약 구상을 밝혔다.
행사장은 수천여 명의 지지자와 군민, 충남·대전권 주요 정치 인사들로 가득 찼다. 대규모 인파에 지역 정가에서는 “출정식을 방불케 했다”는 평가가 나왔다.
이날 현장을 찾은 인사 면면은 여권 핵심이 총집결한 수준이었다.
박범계·박수현·장철민·황명선·장종태 국회의원 등 여당 중진은 물론, 양승조 전 충남도지사, 허태정 전 대전시장, 나소열 전 충남부지사 등이 자리를 함께하며 축하와 격려를 보냈다.
김민석 국무총리와 정청래 더불어민주당 대표, 우원식 국회의장 등은 영상 메시지로 축하 뜻을 전했다.

한 관계자는 “기초자치단체장의 출판기념식으로는 이례적인 전국 단위 인사 규모”라며 “박정현 군수가 충남 정치의 한 축으로 부상하고 있음을 보여준다”고 분석했다.
무대에 오른 박정현 군수는 “중앙과 대도시만이 대한민국의 미래를 설계해선 안 된다. 진짜 변화는 변방이라 불린 곳에서부터 시작돼야 한다”고 말하며 균형발전의 철학을 강조했다.

또한, 군수로서의 지난 8년을 돌아보며 “코로나19와 재난 등 위기 속에서도 지역은 흔들리지 않았다. 함께한 군민이 있었기에 가능했다”고 감사 인사를 건넸다.
이어 “'변방에서 부는 바람' 은 나의 이야기가 아니라 부여 군민과 함께 써 내려온 지역의 역사”라며 “부여에서 시작된 변화의 씨앗이 충남 전역, 더 나아가 대한민국으로 퍼져가길 바란다”고 덧붙였다.
