대전·충남 행정통합 논의가 지역 상생의 해법이 아닌 정치적 공방의 늪으로 빠져들고 있다.
대전시의회 대전·충남행정통합특별위원회(이하 특위)는 9일 대전시의회 기자실에서 기자회견을 열고 더불어민주당이 당론으로 발의한 행정통합 특별법안에 대해 “지역 분열을 조장하는 정치적 술수”라며 강력한 반대 의사를 표명했다.
이재경 특위 위원장은 성명서를 통해 민주당 법안의 불공정성을 거세게 비판했다. 가장 먼저 도마 위에 오른 것은 ‘권한 이양 및 정부 지원 규정’의 형평성이다.
특위 측 설명에 따르면, 같은 날 발의된 광주·전남 특별법은 정부 지원을 ‘해야 한다’는 강행규정으로 명시한 반면, 대전·충남 법안은 ‘할 수 있다’는 임의규정에 그쳤다. 이 위원장은 이를 두고 “충청권을 노골적으로 차별하는 행태이자 진정성 없는 입법”이라며 강하게 질타했다.
