이날 기탁식에 참석한 정덕교 공단 본부장은 “우리 지역의 학생들이 경제적인 이유로 꿈을 포기하지 않고 학업에만 전념해 훌륭한 인재로 성장하길 바라는 마음”이라며 “공단 임직원 모두가 십시일반 뜻을 모아 마련한 기금인 만큼 가평군 교육 발전에 작게나마 보탬이 되길 희망한다”고 기탁 취지를 전했다.
이에 서태원 가평군수는 “매년 잊지 않고 가평의 교육 발전과 인재 양성을 위해 애써주시는 시설관리공단 임직원분들께 깊은 감사를 드린다”며 “보내주신 따뜻한 마음과 소중한 장학금은 학생들이 꿈을 향해 나아가는 데 든든한 디딤돌이 될 수 있도록 투명하고 가치 있게 사용하겠다”고 화답했다.
