【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 지역 축산업의 경쟁력 강화와 지속가능한 생산 기반 구축을 위해 다양한 맞춤형 지원사업을 본격 추진한다.
군은 올해 19억 원을 투입해 △축산경영 안정지원 △친환경축산 기반 조성 △가축방역시스템 구축 등 3개 분야 87개 사업을 추진한다.
앞서 군은 축산업 농가를 대상으로 보조사업 신청을 받고 심의를 거쳐 지난달 25일 지원 대상 농가를 확정했다.
먼저 축산경영 안정지원 분야에서는 자연재해와 질병 등 예기치 못한 위험에 대비하기 위해 29호의 축산농가에 가축재해보험 가입을 지원하고, 기후변화 대응을 위한 축사 환경 개선시설 지원도 추진한다.
또 축산 경쟁력 강화를 위해 축산물 이력관리 지원을 비롯해 한우 혈통 등록과 인공수정 비용을 지원하는 한우 경쟁력 강화사업, 양봉 농가의 생산성 향상을 위한 화분 및 벌통 지원 등도 함께 추진된다.
친환경 축산 기반 조성에도 힘을 쏟는다.
노후 축산시설 장비 교체와 친환경 사양관리를 위해 친환경 축산 시설·장비 보급, 가축분뇨 처리장비 지원, 조사료 사일리지 제조비 지원, 사료작물 생산 지원 등을 추진한다.
성숙한 반려동물 문화 정착을 위한 정책도 병행한다.
길고양이 중성화 사업(TNR), 실외 사육견 중성화 수술 지원, 동물보호센터 운영을 통한 유기동물 구조·보호 지원 등 동물복지 기반 강화 사업도 함께 추진할 계획이다.
아울러 가축 질병 예방을 위한 가축방역시스템 구축에도 행정력을 집중한다.
가축 예방주사와 기생충 구제 약품 구입 지원을 비롯해 구제역 예방백신 지원, 통제초소 운영 및 소독비 지원, 방역 인프라 설치 지원 등을 통해 선제적인 방역 체계를 구축한다는 방침이다.
군 관계자는 “고품질 친환경 축산물 생산 기반을 강화해 소비자 신뢰도를 높이고 축산농가의 경영 안정에도 실질적인 도움이 되도록 하겠다”며 “지속가능한 축산 환경을 조성하기 위한 지원을 계속 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 현재 증평군에서 축산업에 종사하는 농가는 263가구다.
