[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 오는 4월 24일부터 26일까지 3일간 진주실내체육관에서 ‘2026 아시아 이스포츠 대회’를 개최한다고 5일 밝혔다.
이번 대회에는 한국을 비롯해 중국·일본·베트남·태국·필리핀·몽골 등 아시아 7개국 선수단과 관계자 약 150명이 참가 할 예정이다.
대회 종목은 배틀그라운드 모바일, 이풋볼 시리즈, 이터널 리턴, 스트리트 파이터6, 철권8, 킹 오브 파이터즈 XV 등 6개이며 각국은 국내 선발전을 통해 국가대표를 선발해 출전한다.
이번 대회는 2026 아이치·나고야 아시안게임을 앞두고 각국 대표 선수들의 경기력을 점검하는 국제대회 성격을 갖춰 아시아 이스포츠 교류 확대에도 의미가 있다.
