진주시, 무연고·노후 위험 간판 정비사업 추진

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 장기간 방치된 낡은 간판을 정비하기 위해 ‘2026년 무연고·노후 위험 간판 정비사업’을 추진하며 시민 보행 안전 확보와 도시 미관 개선에 나선다고 9일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 관리자 없이 방치돼 추락이나 감전 위험이 있는 노후 간판을 철거해 안전사고를 예방하고, 강풍이나 태풍 시 전도 우려가 있는 간판을 사전에 정비하기 위해 마련됐다.

정비 대상은 관리자가 없어 관리가 이뤄지지 않는 무연고 간판과 심하게 노후되거나 훼손돼 재난 발생 시 붕괴 위험이 있는 간판으로, 도심 곳곳의 안전 취약 요소를 사전에 제거한다.

사업 신청 기간은 9일부터 오는 4월 3일까지이며 주소지 읍·면사무소와 동행정복지센터를 방문하거나 시청 주택경관과에 직접 방문 또는 이메일을 통해 신청서를 제출하면 된다.

시는 접수된 대상지를 중심으로 현장 점검을 실시한 뒤 위험성이 확인된 간판을 대상으로 5월 중 철거와 정비를 마무리할 계획이다.

진주시 관계자는 “장기간 방치된 낡은 간판은 시민 안전을 위협하는 잠재적 위험 요소다”며 “태풍과 강풍이 오기 전 정비를 완료해 안전하고 쾌적한 거리 환경을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
